A visit to the Chocolate and Licorice Factory today, and what a simply beautiful place this is to... The menu is very limited and highly overpriced. The Junee licorice and chocolate factory is located inside the restored Junee flour mill.Although tours do not start until 10am, you can come in early, sit and have some great coffee and cake while reading the memorabilia provided in many of the folders in the dining area.Or if you prefer, there is a gift shop upstairs with a huge variety and range of items for sale.There is a terrific range of "organically certified" Belgian style chocolate, nuts, sultana's, cherries (yum) and licorice varieties for sale here- all of which is healthier and superior in taste and quality than the usual store bought products.Bronte- who was our tour guide for the day and who also works within the factory is very knowledgeable for her age and everyone in the tour commented on her professionalism, humour and presentation skills on the history, manufacture and production on many of the delicious items on offer here. There is the opportunity to have a tour of the production process or simply view through the large viewing windows, if time is short. If you don"t have an hour you can still walk through and watch the licice being made, Stop by the shop and purchase some excellent chocolate coated raspberry licorce and lots of other family treats. We really enjoyed the samples.Gift shop amazing and even though we didn't use the restaurant or cafe the surrounding had a great feel to it.
